It all started in 1992, when Annette and Gerner Andresen opened the Lighthouse Café in Sausalito in its present form. The Andresens, both born in Denmark, had recently immigrated to the U.S., and along with them they brought the Scandinavian flair for simplicity, good quality and tasty food. Kokkari (pronounced “Ko-Kar-ee”) is a small fishing village located on the islands of Samos in the Aegean Sea, whose name is derived from the small onions that were once produced in the nearby fields. Great night, menu varied enough to meet the needs of four picky eaters, even one who needed gluten free options. Our elderly hard of hearing member did complain later in the evening, as it got much busier, that he had a little trouble hearing. All in all wonderful food and very pleasant evening.
