Meat & Potatoes is a high end gastropub in downtown Pittsburgh. Its kitchen takes as its inspiration the idea of elevating comfort food to a gourmet level. Its chefs are inspired by fresh, seasonal ingredients and its bar staff creates innovative cocktails and serves a range of wines by the glass and draught beers, as well. The menu at Meat & Potatoes is a new take on basic. Butterjoint is a comfy bar and restaurant located in North Oakland. Our welcoming and eclectic atmosphere is appropriate for almost any occasion - whether it be meeting a friend for a drink, celebrating an important event, or relaxing after work. Our menu is a mixture of familiar Pittsburgh foods (think pierogies, hamburgers, French fries) and French bistro classics (beef tartare, raclette, mussels), and seasonal classics that come and go throughout the year. We put care into our vegetarian dishes too, including making our own tempeh, falafel, and veggie patties from scratch. Menu items change frequently--usually every day--and reflect many long-standing relationships we have with farms and breweries in our region. In addition to the beautiful train depot surroundings all decorated with for the holiday season, the food was delicious! We enjoyed the calamari appetizer, the French Dip Prime Rib sandwich and the Bronzed Salmon. Yum! Also our server, Stacy, was delightful!

The Winter Salad has a perfect balancr of flavors and textures. Highly recommend. The Ricotta Cavelltrlli also had just the balance of lightness and heaviness, richness and savory vegetables. Husband had perfectly cooked strip steak.

James was an exceptional server/bartender/Sommelier/hostess! He gave perfect recommendations to pair with our starters and meals. The Norwegian Halibut was amazing! The evening was extremely special celebrating our dad’s birthday. It was sweet and memorable to have two daddy daughter dates as well. Molly also was so sweet! We will definitely come back! My wife loved her scallops. The salmon was very creative and delicious. Potato soup was excellent. Our waiter was very friendly. They made sure we had time to get to our show. Would definitely recommend this establishment 👍👍
