In 1688, Joseph Haviland built a tidewater gristmill that provided the locally-grown grains to a nearby bakery that supplied farmers and tradesmen with bread. It was the first public oven in New York State. Haviland’s Old Grist Mill and the public bakery were community gathering places for two centuries. Inspired by Joseph Haviland’s noble efforts, the Haviland Kitchen & Bar has been established for our neighbors. I was so happy to get to experience the dome. As a f&b manager myself I have nothing but kudos to give to this establishment. It was lovely from the first second we walked in until the moment we left; staff was so nice, calm and attentive despite it being busy. Food was so good. The decor is really cute too. I would 100 percent go back! Shout out to Isabella and team for doing such a wonderful job.

We had a sausage and escarole appetizer which was heavenly. My husband ate a pasta special, he thoroughly enjoyed. I had St. Peter’s fish, as usually it was excellent. The staff is friendly, the owner visits tables to ensure you are happy with your meal. Thanks to all who work at Meta!

We went for brunch. The steak and eggs, churro waffles with chicken, the French toast, and the pineapple coconut drinks are all family faves. We also get the fresh guacamole, street corn, and salsa with warm chips every time. Great food and service (thanks Alejandro!)
