Meat & Potatoes is a high end gastropub in downtown Pittsburgh. Its kitchen takes as its inspiration the idea of elevating comfort food to a gourmet level. Its chefs are inspired by fresh, seasonal ingredients and its bar staff creates innovative cocktails and serves a range of wines by the glass and draught beers, as well. The menu at Meat & Potatoes is a new take on basic.     We recently dined at The Commoner and had an excellent experience. Our server, Scott, was outstanding. He was attentive, friendly, and made sure all our needs were met promptly. The food was delicious, and Scott's recommendations were spot on. The ambiance of the restaurant was warm and inviting, making it a perfect spot for a great meal. Overall, the service at The Commoner, especially from Scott, was top-notch, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience. Also, the potatoes as an appetizer may have been the best thing I’ve tasted in my 26 years of living.

    We absolutely loved our food. From the starters to dessert was amazing! Our waitress was great, great suggestions, funny, silly. We really enjoyed her. We were a little disappointed that we had to wait 25 minutes after our reservation time but the good food made up for it. I was enjoying my food so much, I forgot to take pictures!

    The food (Caesar salads and Beef Wellington) was delicious. Great cocktails and wine. The server was very good and treated us well, which we appreciated, but she was also very busy and so didn’t have time to check in very often. We enjoyed our experience and would definitely recommend Meat and Potatoes.
