Before the James Beard Award and the Gourmet Magazine review, Lotus of Siam was a small little hole in the wall located in Commercial Center in Las Vegas. November 1999 was the month Chef Saipin and her husband Bill took over Lotus of Siam. Since then, Thai food became an adventure for those willing to step out of their comfort zones for Asian Cuisine. Chef Saipin’s distinct cooking has been passed down from generation to generation, from both her grandmothers and her husband’s grandmothers. Her northern style cooking has opened America into the “Northern” world of Thailand, away from the Bangkok style of sweet and tang. The northern menu consists of hearty herbs and spices, along with Thai style stews and coconut-less curries. Always the right level, the music will not get in the way of your conversations. The kitchen is open from 5pm to 1am, Tuesday through Saturday. The bar is usually open later. Full menu until 12am, then a satisfying late night menu until 1am.

Excellent service and food. A bit pricey but worth every dollar spent. We were celebrating a birthday and had varied dishes, smoked NY steak, pork chop, lamb chops, chicken and Chilean sea bass. We were all highly satisfied. The bread and the sauce they bring out with it has a kick but was very tasty. If I had to name an inconsistency it would be with the cocktails, they were a little slow coming out and the 1st drink was great but the 2nd was ok after ordering the same drink.

This was our first time at this restaurant. The server was very helpful and she explained different things on the menu . We had calamari for an appetizer followed by scallops for our meal. Then we shared a butter cake dessert that was suggested by the server. Overall , it was a very outstanding meal. The service was excellent and prices were reasonable.

this place was great. the service was friendly and accommodating. The food was amazing and with big portions, I ordered the spaghetti and meatball and it was the best I ever had. I love the live entertainment, a frank Sinatra karaoke singer was very good. Overall it was a great experience, a little pricy but worth it.

This is an exceptional restaurant. Please do not let the outdated plaza which houses the restaurant fool you. This is an oasis where the food and service are exceptional. We have been coming here every Vegas trip.
