Standing high above the city on the 10th floor of the City Club Apartments, at 309 Vine Street; resurrected from the history that has stood here before our time, Shires' Rooftop is inspired by the first amusement resort in this part of the country, Shires' Garden. Though the original Shires' Gardens burned to the ground, "in a most picturesque fire," the legacy that was left behind is everlasting and an integral part of the Queen City's history. It was our ony child's birthday. Unfortunately, he was with his golfing associates in North Carolina. Ali hit us with the bad news that no beets had been delivered that day. The lights of the city seemed special. Usually we don't bother to look out. The food is always -- I mean always excellent. John is on top of everything; if there is a mistake, John makes it right. He always works his butt off. John and his family absolutely know how to run a restaurant. Many other restaurants have gone out of business while Primavista continues to prosper!!
