Nestled in the canyons of Bel Air, SHU is a dining experience like no other - a fusion of Japanese, Italian and Latin flavors and influences.     Our second visit in one week! Both times we were warmly greeted by Anastasia at the host stand who was always very accommodating and cheerful and just has a wonderful vibe and energy. Our server was very knowledgeable about all the ingredients in everything we ordered (lactose intolerance) and was able to make great recommendations. Both times we dined here were before events across the street at the Dolby/Hollywood&Highland center, and Anastasia made sure to communicate to the staff our timeline so we could be sure to be finished with our meal on time. Every dish we ordered was so inventive, beautifully prepared, and so delicious! The persimmon and leek appetizer was amazing, and I’m still thinking about it. This place is such a great spot for a delicious pre-show meal in the area, especially if you’re already planning to park at the Hollywood&Highland center, and the interior of the historic Roosevelt Hotel that it’s part of is so beautiful to see on your way to and from the restaurant.
