Sullivan’s Quay (pronounced, “Key”) or “Sullie’s Quay,” as it is known locally, is one of the oldest settled parts of my home, County Cork. The word Quay is actually defined: A wharf formed towards the sea or at the side of a harbour for convenience of loading or unloading goods.You will notice our dining room walls adorned with Murals of Architecture from the area of Sullivan’s Quay around the 19th century, when Jack Sullivan, whom the area is named after, patrolled the streets selling beer and wine to the local saloonkeepers. We had an amazing experience. Our servers Gaby and Stephanie were exceptional and very professional. Their knowledge of the food and drinks were impeccable. They made our Christmas Eve dining experience very memorable and enjoyable.

We sat by the window for a beautiful winter view. Our server, Miguel, was very polite, personable and attentive. He also took a bunch of photos for us at the end- very helpful. Food was delicious and my meal (salmon entree) felt well-balanced. Castle owner, Gary, visited our table and that of the other guests, which was cool to be able to converse and learn a little more about the castle. All the workers seemed to know him, so that seemed like a positive, too. They also gave my daughter a coloring book, crayons, and a yummy package of mini cookies to take home. Only negative was that the fire alarm went off during meal, which startled us. Then we were informed that happens sometimes because the castle's fire monitoring system is sensitive. It turned off after about 15 seconds. Overall, we had a really nice time and plan to go back.
