Café Berlin has been serving authentic German cuisine on Capitol Hill since 1985. It occupies the ground floor of three townhouses whose front yards serve as Biergarten for outdoor dining. The interior features a small bar and two cozy dining rooms. The restaurant is located within a short walking distance of Union Station and the U.S. Capitol. It draws politicians, congressional staffer, and tourists as well a loyal following of neighborhood residents. The traditional dishes are authentically prepared with lighter touch by chefs with extensive experience in German cuisine. Mochten we het geweten hebben dan waren we de hele week hier komen eten. Dit restaurant waar de beste ervaring op onze hele reis. De bediening was top en zo ook het eten. Een echte aanrader, maar je kan best vooraf reserveren.

Our server Luis made a casual Saturday meal into a special occasion. With his knowledge of the kitchen operation, he was able to pace the courses perfectly without our even asking him. Key feature of his great service (and of all high level servers): he listened to us and delivered accordingly. Oh, and the pizza is very tasty too!

Been craving mussels so this was the perfect stop after 5pm Mass on Christmas Eve. Enjoyed the Christmas Cookie Ale with my husband and my brother visiting from Vegas. Perfect way to kick off Christmas. Thank You!

Had a lovely dinner with the family on Christmas Eve. Our service was fabulous, the food was delicious and the ambience was festive and comfortable. It had been about 35 years since we were there last time - much has changed. We kept it simple with ordering calamari (so fresh!), pizza (surprisingly fantastic and so much pepperoni!), salads (huge and fresh) and fish and chips (crunchy and light and mounds of chips). We plan to return again very soon!

Haven’t been to Evening Star in a few years but was happy to experience the same charming service and tasty food. I had the cavitelli pasta which was amazing. My friends all had the meatloaf which they raved about. Great dinner and will not wait so long to return for another dinner.
