Casual, coastal restaurant in the North Loop. Reservations taken for dining room only, patio seating is available on a first come, first serve basis. Please check in with hosts upon arrival for patio seating.Although named for the boats used to catch lobster, Smack Shack was launched as a food truck in 2010 serving lobster rolls from a land-locked downtown Minneapolis parking lot. When you win a big award (James Beard) expectations are high. Young Joni lives up to the expectations. The food is delicious, the service warm and friendly, the photo booth a plus that says ‘you’re part of this place’ and the atmosphere easy and relaxing. I’ll be back.

Food was delicious. Decor was interesting. Service staff was very nice, though slow to grab our order initially. Definitely a unique and fulfilling menu with the environment to match.
