Café Berlin has been serving authentic German cuisine on Capitol Hill since 1985. It occupies the ground floor of three townhouses whose front yards serve as Biergarten for outdoor dining. The interior features a small bar and two cozy dining rooms. The restaurant is located within a short walking distance of Union Station and the U.S. Capitol. It draws politicians, congressional staffer, and tourists as well a loyal following of neighborhood residents. The Sovereign was an excellent find for us while visiting DC! At the end of a full day we wanted a nice dinner in the Georgetown area and this place was a gem. Great food (best mussels my wife has had) and delicious drinks (awesome Belgian beer selection) made for an outstanding dinner!

This was our second time in a week. The food is outstanding, as the service--very friendly, quiet, helpful, knowledgeable. The ambience is lovely. They have retained the decor of Birch and Barley, which is great. The lighting is lovely, warm and low, but bright enough to read. All in all, a great experience. Neighborhood favorite.

We were greeted with a big smile at the front stand and promptly seated. This vibrant spot featured fresh, well-prepared sushi and an array of American and Italian selections. Every dish we selected was excellent. Though the place was packed and the noise level was predictably high, I had requested a quiet table when reserving and we were seated in a private booth complete with a door and coat hooks - the closest thing to our own dining room. The star of the evening was was our server Brian S. He was cheerful, informative, professional, welcoming, and everything one wants to insure a good experience when dining out. Kudos to The Hamilton - everyone got everything right!
