Positioned on the East Side Beltline trail, The James Room is a dark and moody cocktail lounge that is meant to be a place where you can leave your stresses at the door and immerse in the energetic vibrations of our cozy and intimate space. Upon entry, an upscale coffee shop takes your gaze. During the day, the cafe intriguingly offers unique flavors such as sea salt lavender and rosemary sage, or you can opt for a classic vanilla or caramel addition to your joe if you fancy. A few paces away is an inconspicuous door disguised as a bookcase, leading to the speakeasy area equipped with a peculiar mood. Owned by brothers John-Thomas and Christopher Scott, Parker's on Ponce is Decatur's first independently owned steakhouse. The Scott family has always been extremely involved in the local community, including local government. The restaurant is named after John-Thomas' 12 year old daughter, Parker. The whole family is often seen at the restaurant - it is not a business to them, but a home - and they treat guests of the restaurant as family as well.

    10/10 would recommend; it was a very elegant experience. I came to celebrate my birthday with my girl and the servers were extremely friendly, helpful, and respectful and never left us hanging or even with a slightly empty cup. We will most definitely be coming back!

    My husband and I went to by George for Valentine's Day. The Candler Hotel was beautiful and the restaurant didn't disappoint. The ambience was great and so was the food. Deonna, our server was top notch. If you're lucky to have her as your server, you will be well taken care of. I have recommended the restaurant to all my friends as a place where they can dress up and have a truly special evening.

    Parker’s was excellent in every way. The service was superb, the atmosphere was nice: quiet and sophisticated. And the food was terrific. It’s a steak house so I tried the steak and was very happy. High quality beef cooked to perfection with an “au poive” sauce that was heavenly. I’ll definitely be back.

    The food at Two Urban Licks is always good and the service is friendly and prompt. We started with the chicken empanada appetizer which was delicious. My husband ordered the trout and I had the salmon. Both dishes were cooked perfectly and were delicious. We’re already talking about going back soon and bringing some friends with us!
