Opened in April 2024 by a family that has been operating restaurants in and around Old Town for almost 50 years. Located in the heart of Old Town, Mystic has a diverse menu featuring Texas style smoked brisket, baby rack ribs & Carolina pulled pork. Meats are smoked low & slow in BBQ champion Myron Mixon's signature smoker that is front and center in our open kitchen. BBQ is just one part of this southern centric menu that also features fresh seafood including our signature spicy she crab soup, low country shrimp & grits & creole bouillabaisse. Located in historic Blagden Alley in D.C.'s Shaw neighborhood since 2015, The Dabney continues to pay tribute to the wonderful farmers, watermen, and purveyors of the mid-Atlantic region whom provide some of the best and most unique products in the country. The food was outstanding. The pizzas and chicken Parmigiana were really good. We had the apple donuts and warm chocolate cake for dessert. Service was impeccable and the ambience is really nice.

Order the Cabbage! Yes, you read that right. I don’t like cabbage, but I’m definitely coming back for their plate. Everything I thought I wouldn’t like I did like at this place. The five course meal is worth it. Get there early because of the bread once it’s gone it’s gone

We had a Great dinner there for my birthday. We had the Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Curry, Indian Salad, Bhaingan Bharta, Aloo Gobi, Garlic Naan. It was WAY too much food for 2 of us but I wanted to try a bunch of my favorites. Everything came out hot (except the salad of course!) and tasted wonderful. We got “medium” spicy level and I felt we could have easily gone to “hot”. The staff was wonderful and also gave me a sweet birthday treat at the end. If we end up back in Alexandria we’d definitely go back.

Had a wonderful experience. The food was delicious and the service was great. We sat at the counter and were able to watch the chef make everything. Since we went on a Monday, wine was market price, so we enjoyed the salmon special and pork chop with a bottle of wine. Too bad they're closing the restaurant portion, because we would definitely go back. Looking forward to taking some cooking classes there though!
