My partner and I first discovered Pietramala in spring 2024, and have found ourselves going back almost every time we are back in Philly. I want to stress that we are not vegans (though we are pescatarian); however, every dish at Pietramala is innovative and transcendent, showing you what is truly possible with the ingredients that you might not have ever considered or thought about. Everyone who works there - from the chefs to front of house - are all fantastic, and the ambience is always just right. Cannot recommend Pietramala enough

The food and service were both outstanding. We had a 4:30 reservation, so it was quite. But the place filled out by time we left. Clams casino pizza was a special and I hope it makes it to the main menu. We will be back to try some other of the tasty food on the menu.

The owners and staff are very welcoming. Staff takes lots of time to describe the food and wine. We know how fish should be cooked/served: moist yet fall apart with a fork. Each seafood dish met this criteria. The flavors were all wonderful but for the fist dish which I believe has a Japanese radish that was fine but a little dominating. Each dish that followed was perfect, especially the grouper. Their wine selection is wide enough to make anyone happy, and the wine prices kept in the very reasonable ranges.

Christmas Eve Seven Fishes dinner was truly spectacular! The newly remodeled restaurant is beautiful, and the ambience was warm and buzzing. Can’t forget the food — which was wonderful. Owner Ellen Yin was there circulating and helping out the staff, which really made the whole night special. Thank you Fork for helping make this year’s Christmas festivities memorable!

The tasting menu strikes the perfect balance of honoring beloved classics while introducing bold new favorites. Longtime fans will be thrilled to see signature dishes like the scallop and duck make a triumphant return, each as flawless as ever. But the new additions are equally dazzling—particularly the rigatoni, octopus, and scallop, each a masterclass in flavor and technique. And then there’s the cheeseburger. Magical doesn’t even begin to cover it. Imagine all your expectations of a burger, then multiply them by ten. The genius behind it all is Chef Alex - an original in every sense. Her creativity is matched only by her warmth, making the dining experience feel both elevated and personal. She’s not just redefining what great food is—she’s redefining how it feels to enjoy it. If you haven’t been to the new Roxanne, run, don’t walk. It’s a culinary triumph that honors its past while paving the way for an even brighter future.
