We are not an authentic ramen shop, though we value the history of ramen, and our ramen is influenced by its past and its future potential. Roughly translating to “Red Star,” the name “Akahoshi” is a love letter to two cities; Sapporo, Hokkaido, where red stars adorn city monuments, and Chicago, Illinois, where the red star decorates the city flag. We had a great first visit to Cabra! The food was delicious and well-balanced. We missed out on an item that we ordered, and service was slightly slow at the start, but the server was so personable and kind so we didn't mind. They sent us an incredible salad to compensate for the lag in service and we felt we'd had the perfect amount of food. Thank you Cole for your hospitality!

every time we eat at girl and the goat, i fall in love all over again. the food is creative and always delicious. the ambiance feels so cozy and casual, intimate, and like a warm hug. i love that i celebrated my 40th birthday here at the king’s table and then, 10 years later visited for my 50th birthday and tho we sat at a different table, had a repeat visit from the same server - GARY!!! definitely try the steak in citrus dressing, the pork belly in crabmeat sauce, and always the pig face. always always the pig face. and the crumpets in the pate order. my GOSH so good

Great experience. We started with the bite size apps: delicious. We then had the oysters: outstanding. Next was the Caesar for two: not my favorite. Too much lemon and way too much anchovies. Next time I would definitely ask for very little lemon and no anchovies or maybe one smashed in the dressing. We ordered filet mignon with the mushrooms and mashed potatoes- outstanding! Great service from Rory, thank you!

This was one of my top five dining experiences ever! We got kitchen counter seating which I love- being right in the mix and chatting with the chefs is my jam! Cocktails were on point but the food…. I mean come on!!!! We had zucchini fritters, a butternut squash filled pasta dish that had this amazing rich and subtly sweet sauce, roasted beets with this crazy pop of pomegranate and risotto with a taleggio fonduta that I will be dreaming about for a very long time! Bravo, rose mary- you killed it!!!!
