The Late August name derives from the joyful time of year when the Sears catalog would arrive at your doorstep, bringing a deep desire and wonderment to all who would receive it and begin feverishly circling the items that would hopefully arrive for Christmas.Our restaurant, set in the previous Historic Downtown Sears building, seeks to bring that same wonder to guests through its atmosphere, service, and cuisine. Echoing the mission of Lucille's Hospitality, which is committed to “Serving the Past, Feeding the Future,” Late August’s menu explores the culinary heritages of Chef Chris Williams and Chef Sergio Hidalgo by bringing the dishes and flavors from both their youths and the experiences to date creating a culturally culinary celebration.

Chefs Patrick Pham and Daniel Lee have over 25 years of combined experience in Japanese cuisine and sushi. They established their culinary careers in Houston where they worked together for years before creating their own restaurants.Pham and Lee teamed up to bring new curated dining concepts to Houston’s food scene and kicked off a series of omakase pop-up dinners called Secret Taste. Located in a former auto shop in the vibrant Montrose neighborhood near The Menil Collection and Museum District, Clark’s Houston is the third and largest location of our popular neighborhood oyster bar and seafood restaurant. Opened in Fall 2023, Clark’s features freshly shucked oysters, crudo, lobster roll, daily fish specials, caviar and blini, bowls of chowder and cioppino as well as a much-loved burger and shoestring fries.The restaurant specializes in martinis and signature cocktails as well as an extensive Champagne and wine list.     The wait was a tad long even with a reservation (but they can’t really be blamed that Valentine’s Day happened to fall on a Friday anyhow) Once we were seated we had waters brought out and our very friendly server took incredible care of my partner and I. The food was delicious and everything I hoped it would be, there were two live music groups walking around and playing great music as well which added great atmosphere. Overall I cannot recommend this place enough to anyone, I’m sure you’ll be seated much faster on a better night as well so I wouldn’t bet on knocking this place because of it.

    It was an excellent experience on our first time here. My girlfriends and I meet weekly at different restaurants throughout Houston and we decided to give The Rustic a try. The host, James, that greeted us as we each arrived was very friendly and welcoming; telling us a bit about the restaurant and the live performances on weekends. The food was exceptional and well priced. The noise level was very good despite the size of the dining room. Parking was what we expect at the Uptown Park location but none of us had any issues as we all arrived at different times. Overall a great experience. We plan to return and bring our guys next time
