It becomes apparent soon after entering RedFire Grill & Steakhouse why it has become the destination spot throughout the Delaware Valley for people seeking out great steaks and chops. The sultry, penetrating tones of scarlet and brick leap out from behind the bar while the cool, casual comforts of stained wood, stone and wrought iron appoint the sophisticated dining room. Our service team is engaging and knowledgeable without being obtrusive or conspicuous. Our menu features a carefully chosen selection of dry-aged beef seared to perfection on our 1200 degree Chophouse Broiler. Other menu items include fresh fish, organic chicken & traditional steakhouse beef offerings. Lunch options are highlighted by generously portioned salads, sandwiches and signature burgers.**A NOTE FROM THE RESTAURANT**Reservations are not required. The House of William and Merry serves contemporary American cuisine prepared from the freshest seasonal ingredients procured from local farms, providing casual fine dining at a reasonable price. Chef-owned by the husband and wife team, Merry Catanuto and William Hoffman, who live on the property, the restaurant is a remodeled farmhouse on the edge of central Hockessin. Dine in a comfortable home atmosphere in one of the two dining rooms, the porch, or the bar. When you arrive, you can see right into the all new, modern kitchen. Full bar service is available including wines by the glass, microbrews on tap, and specialty drinks. Or, take a walk around back to see the herb and vegetable gardens.Tuesday through Saturday we serve lunch and dinner. On Sunday, we serve brunch followed by a prix fix supper in the evening.

    Fantastic! Already planning to visit again! We had planned a visit to Longwood Gardens on the evening of Christmas Day, not expecting to find a restaurant open for dinner afterwards. After an internet search and a phone call, we were delighted to discover that this Italian restaurant was indeed open on the biggest national and spiritual holiday of the year when chain stores and restaurants are closed. We made reservations for 7:30 PM on Christmas day. From the moment we approached the front door until we left, we were smitten. The place was packed full of couples and families with older children. Clean and well-lit parking garage was just steps away, the wait staff were knowledgeable and attentive (not to mention very handsome with thick Italian accents), the food was to die for, and the ambiance was charming. We wish we lived closer so we could eat here more often!
