Fujiyama Steakhouse has been bringing the freshest and most succulent steak and seafood to Indianapolis diners for over thirty-five years.
Located conveniently off of Emerson and I465, minutes away from both downtown Indianapolis and residential areas.     Chefs air all of their culinary secrets at Fujiyama Steak House of Japan, where they expertly slice filet mignon, flip pieces of shrimp into the air, and grill mounds of rice at hibachi tables as diners watch. Guests can also marvel as sushi masters stuff the freshest fried shrimp, avocado, cucumber, and crab inside the dynamite roll before deep-frying the entire cylinder to a crispy golden brown. They create this same crunch in other maki specialties by incorporating tempura-battered shrimp and chicken.

    We had a reservation at 7:30 and we weren’t sat until 45 minutes later. Overall dinner took 3 hours from the time we arrived to when we left. The dinner itself was about an hour with the other 2 hours spent there waiting to be sat, our server, food, everything. There were a bunch of employees standing around yet the service was so slow, barely were offered refills, and then they charged 20% gratuity for a party of 6 and unfortunately it wasn’t deserved due to the experience. Food was “fine” but will not be back.

    We arrived at 7:20 for our 7:30 hibachi reservation for 3. At 8 we asked how much longer we would be waiting and were told there were still 2 tables to be seated. We were seated at 8:20 at a table for 8 with 9 chairs. We decided that we did not want to spend over $100 crammed into a table that was too small after waiting over an hour so we left.

    Super disappointed with the menu changes. They have basically substituted the hibachi dinner shrimp with broccoli and carrots, and fried rice is now included. Not a fan of the broccoli and carrots at all, so requested our meals without. The teriyaki chicken tasted different, as well as the fried rice. Different sauce used maybe? Definitely not as good as it has always been. They even took away their mints at the door. Been coming to Fujiyama for 30+ years, and not sure if we will come back. At least not until we've tried other hibachi restaurants first.

    We came to celebrate my husband's birthday. It was a little noisy but great all in all. our chef was awesome we have been here several times, and he was the best we have had so far. This is the first time we got a sparkling pineapple for a birthday celebration. Nice touch!!

    Everyone used to receive shrimp with their order, they took that away to give you broccoli and carrots mixed with the other vegetables. The new sauce is not good, its to sweet and thick. The filet was a terrible cut for all 4 people who got it. The sirloin was actually the best cut of meat. Definitely not worth the price anymore.

    Haven’t been to Fujiyama in over 20 years. The place was much nicer than I remembered it to be and the food was even better. We love Hibachi and I don’t know why we haven’t been back for so long, but it is now back in the radar.

    Had a reservation and we were sat promptly and the host staff greeted us kindly. Server came to the table and got drinks for everyone and then took everyone’s order. Chef started making food and told my wife the Geisha no longer comes with shrimp….so we paid $6 more than teriyaki chicken for two more bites of chicken?? For this reason I cannot give a five star for value, or food either. We will come back, but I will be confirming that the description on the menu is accurate. Honestly, our waitress should’ve said something about this when she ordered, but maybe there was a mistake made somewhere along the way? Who knows, who cares, it’s $6 so I’m not gonna make a case about it…but just confirm there is good info going out when you order!

    Chef was a very good entertainer, Very GOOD!! I ordered med rare steak and it was cooked WELL done, rest of the food was just all right..

    My husband and I are both gluten free. Our chef went above and beyond to cook our meals first and with GF ingredients before cooking the other food in our party. We actually didn’t realize that this would be done so next time we will just sit in the restaurant part so that the rest of our party doesn’t have to wait on their food. (We felt so bad!) Nonetheless our chef was amazing. Everything was delicious. A great experience.
