The former owners of the Venezia Bar & Grill and Café Venezia, Benito and Hilda Gamba, have combined their efforts into the Gamba Ristorante. Located in Merrillville, this restaurant is housed in an architectural masterpiece, which is hard to miss with its circular design and copper roof. Modeled after upscale restaurants in exotic European locations, the menu offers classic Italian cuisine. The wine room boasts storage space for 1,000 bottles. A banquet hall holds up to 175 people and looks out onto an open courtyard.

    One of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had! The staff was professional and polite, the food was amazing and I definitely recommend them as a go to for a memorable date night experience!

    Such a wonderful spot to dine in Merrillville, Gamba is a jewel. Michael is an amazing server. Timing is on point so that a guest is not hurried nor left to wait for a course. The food is absolutely delicious - from the best bread in the area to the lightest calamari. This restaurant does not skimp or cut corners. The chef/owner is not available on Mondays, but his incredibly competent and gifted daughter stands proudly in his shoes and speaks with each guest.

    Best restaurant in Indiana in my opinion. I’ve been going for 15 years, always elegant, relaxing, and wonderful menu. Wine list well thought out and reasonable - 5 stars.

    First time at Gamba's. The experience was wonderful. Our server Cameron, was cordial and helpful in answering menu questions. My better half choose Elk and loved it. Ambience in the bar was perfect for a cozy dinner. We will be coming back with family and friends.

    Restaurant was perfect!!! Lighting and ambience was perfect for a date night. Food was delicious, had a lot of specials, happy hour to choose from. This place is a gem absolutely worth every penny

    I took somebody there on a first date. It was extremely nice and, quiet. We are able to conversate without having to speak louder or attempt to talk over the noise level. In fact, we were having such a nice conversation that the restaurant closed without us even realizing it. And the staff number one made us feel uncomfortable or that it was time to go.... That means the world, especially on a first date.
