The name GAONNURI represents our placement in what we believe is the center of the world, both physically and figuratively. Located in the heart of New York City, a city that represents the intersection of the finest cuisines and eclectic cultures, GAONNURI seeks to gather people of all backgrounds to share in a traditional Korean dining experience. We hope that the authenticity of the food and the enjoyment of the dining experience will invite patrons for generations to come.     The only dificulties were deciding which paths to take on our food journey. This was my 4th trip so decisions were a bit easier. All the food is excellent, so variety is where it is at. If there are serious meat appreciators with big appetites, Omakase would make sense. The tasting menues are sensible and fun. For our group, a couple appetizers, two 'Premium Sets', plus two fish entrees gave us a nice variery of flavors. This was followed by deserts and a variety of after dinner drinks. We didn't have wine but the selections are world class. Please just fully savor the truly spectacular views (from the 39th floor) with exceptional food and disinvite any frugal friends. Expecting to pay less than 150-200 per person would be foolish and counterproductive. Worth every penny.

    Ryan Lin, our server, was absolutely exceptional. He made the whole night fantastic, attentive to detail, very welcoming. The food itself was also superb and had incredible flavors! Would highly recommend.

    Restaurant with lovely views. Table did the omekase menu which was cooked on table by tableside chef. Every cut of beef cooked to perfection and recommendations for seasonings on point. The bibimbap was serviceable, but paled in comparison. The several amuse bouches were delightful. The mandarin dessert was a light, refreshing conclusion to the meal. Pricy, but for a special event it is a great choice.

    We had great birthday dinner and amazing view of the city. Service was attentive and food delicious! We took the Omakase BBQ menu, each meat piece was excellent quality and perfectly grilled in front of us.
