Had an extraordinary meal. Beautifully prepared and presented. Service, however, was cordial but surpisingly inconsistent and intentative. Opted not to do wine pairing, instead preferring cocktail and wine by glass. Had glass of wine with 1st of two appetizers - and never asked again until i had after finished my entree. At that point, requested coffee with dessert but it never came. For a restaurant of this caliber (on a relatively slow night, did not appear understaffed), this seemed a glaring misfire.

Spectacular dining experience! From the fabulous ambience, outstanding service, to the divine cuisine my wife and I agreed that Gary Dankos ranks in our top 10 dining experience to celebrate anywhere in the world. The warm welcome of the delightful host, her seating us at a lovely corner table, the smiling and always there but not too intrusive servers, the extraordinary and reasonably priced Sancerre after the largest martini ever, combined with extraordinarily delicious flavors in each course, made for a delightful and memorable evening. And all for a price that feels good value for a truly special dining experience. How has it taken us all this time to visit after living here for over twenty-five years? We cannot wait to find an excuse to celebrate again soon! Bravo!

Great place to celebrate a special occasion! Wide selection of food, wine, cocktails, something for everyone. Every course was beautifully plated and delicious. Service was outstanding and the atmosphere was cozy. Will be back!

Amazing food as always. The roasted quail was unbelievable. The creme brulee was the best I have ever had. My wife got the chocolate souffle which was divine. We also had the wine pairing which was perfect. We have been to San Francisco twice and eaten here twice. When we come back to SF, we will come and eat at Gary Danko again.
