Gaucho is heating things up in the mountains! Gauchos are the cowboys of South America – a national symbol of pride and tradition. The residents of Rio Grande do Sul, a Brazilian state, are affectionately referred to as “Gauchos”. This state, renowned for its unique churrasco barbecue, is the birthplace of Chef Edmilson Rodrigues.

Warm up after a day outdoors with authentic Churrasco - Brazilian barbecue, or indulge anytime in the bold tastes, flavours and fun of Rodizio -all-you-care-to-enjoy dining. Our barbecue chefs will bring perfectly roasted meats directly to your table on massive Gaucho-style skewers, each with a tender selection of cuts of the day. Dinner ... Meats were tasty, nicely seasoned, cooked just right, and came to the table still hot; Excellent service by Hanna; Resonable prices. Clean environment; Lots of space between tables.

Food was great when we got it. Service was very slow and ok at best. Waited a very long time for sides and drinks, over 30 mins.

Meat is cooked rare, so don’t go if you don’t like that, also quite fatty. Service is slow. Some of our sides didn’t come that we ordered. It was better when they had a salad buffet. Quite pricey as well for what you get.

Overall not bad. A lot of the meat was only cooked very rare, most of the beef was very chewy. Same applies for eh pork. Check however was fantastic! Sausage was good. Having to order the side thru the waitress to me was odd. Could not see what the food looked like ahead of time. Other Brazillian restaurants I’ve been to all had the side an and salads set out smorgasbord style. There are better choices in Canmore for food.

We expected better service. However when we arrived the waiter at the front desk was quite rude and said we had booked for the Calgary Restaurant. We were initially quite shocked but then realised he was joking. It was a poor joke and set a bad tone for the whole evening. I suggest that the waiter who welcomes guests should have better training with regards to customer service.

If you are eating keto, you will love this place. It is one price ($65 each, I believe) for all you can eat meat, cooked like Brazilian BBQ, along with some very nice salads and other sides. I enjoyed everything I ate, and we ate a lot! It is a hurried experience, as the hot swords of meat are rushed from table to table so that you receive the meat hot. And you get a small portion each time so that you can enjoy the variety. It is a different dining experience but worth a try.

Another really good experience at Gauchos in Canmore. It's been a favourite of mine over the years, but I had a new customer with me this time and they were also impressed. Booking was easy, and the staff were attentive but never hassled even though we stayed longer than usual. The meat were on the mark last night and came round at a really good pace so as not to appear rushed or too far apart.
