Gjelina is a restaurant specializing in New American cuisine. Open every day from 8 a.m. until 11pm, serving breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner. For breakfast, try 9 grain pancakes with butter and maple syrup or warm banana buckwheat loaf with butter and jam of the day. Brunch options include Moroccan baked eggs and 7 grain porridge. Gjelina offers a variety of oysters, crudo, charcuterie and salad options to start at lunch and dinner. Main courses include pizzas from our wood fired oven and entrees like duck confit, house made pastas and roasted organic half chicken.
*Only ADA certified animals are allowed in Gjelina
*A 20% Mandatory Service Charge is added to your check. Our belief is that every hourly Gjelina employee contributes to your service and 100% of the MSC will be distributed amongst them.

I would not go there to celebrate any special occasion , specially Anniversary. They do serve hearty meals, nothing to be amazed for. Server never touched the table besides dropping the check. Unfortunately,I wouldn’t go back.

This was our first time. We were sat immediately upon arrival inside at a comfortable table. But, you can not control who sits next to you. A "love bird" couple sat next to each other, instead of across from, on the bench seat next to my wife. They were inconsiderate throughout. However, the food was exceptional. I had read the Yelp reviews in advance, so I was anticipating average to poor service. We had average service at best. We really do want to come back as the menu is expansive.

Pricey but worth it. Menu creative, food ingredients well chosen and service friendly even with kids for bfast

the staff could be nicer and not act like it’s an inconvenience to serve people. also, it was 70 degrees out and they had the heaters on full blast, quite confusing.

Gjlina is one of those spots that embodies the typical Venice hipster vibe at an elevated price. Food is great and it’s served in cool digs but the service is mediocre at best. From the host’s ambivalence at our presence to waiting much longer than necessary to even be greeted once we sat. The whole experience is one that always seems like a great idea versus actually being one. That said, our server was nice and offered good food suggestions when asked. Also, the food came out quick once we ordered!

The food overall was great! I would not get the saffron spaghetti it’s very fishy! The service isn’t great but I think it’s because it’s included in the check already… but our waitress wasn’t the kindest. The rest of the staff was overall nice.
