The Hooded Merganser was designed to provide guests with a lakeside experience like no other. Vaulted ceilings and floor to ceiling windows have made us the place to be during storm watching season. The outdoor patio is incredible during the warmer months. The menu features delicious Mediterranean dishes to perfection in the open kitchen. Enjoy the superb selection of hard-to-find Okanagan wines from our cellars. Tie up your boat at the marina and come in for a truly enjoyable time.

                                                      The service was outstanding. The vegetable were undercooked and hard to cut. The steak was delicious, but definately not 6oz. It was a small lump, about 1/3 the size of my palm. It should be about the size and thickness of your palm, or 170 gram. Other than that we love dining there.

                                                      David and his staff are wonderful people. Their newly renovated restaurant is very inviting. Eric and I love the new menu. The goat cheese garlic and pita bread appetizer were so good! The medium rear burger was delicious! Ask your server about the burger!

                                                      Server was efficient, friendly, exceptionally tuned into details, experienced/professional…a definite treat for my husband and I …we’ve been visiting the “LakesideCoast/Resort” for THIRTY THREE years! Sooooooooooo relieved the casino has gone!!!!! Lucky staff to work alongside such a gorgeous view. Coming fm WhiteRock/SouthSurrey, we appreciate the lake and the ocean. PLEASE NOTE: a corner of the the carpet alongside booth towards the washrooms was UP, a tripping hazard to be sure. Continued good business

                                                      We have enjoyed meals at the Hooded Merganser on occasion. On Thanksgiving Sunday we ordered the “Thanksgiving Special”. The meal was served within minutes of ordering which was unusual. Unfortunately it came to the table cold. I assume the meal was already plated in the kitchen and sitting under heat lamps. The meal consisted of an over-generous serving of cold mashed potatoes, a miserly amount of turkey dressing, undercooked vegetables and a generous serving of white turkey meat. Gravy which was served in a cute gravy boat was cold and stiff. Cranberries were served on the side. The complimentary bread was crisp, stiff and undesirable. I have had much better Thanksgiving meals served at community halls by volunteer organizations. Sorry Merganser, not to your standards.
