Hugo's Frog Bar & Fish House opened its doors in February 1997 in the heart of Chicago's Gold Coast neighborhood, next to sister restaurant Gibsons Bar & Steakhouse. Over 20 years after owners Hugo Ralli and Steve Lombardo set out to open the city's finest seafood restaurant, Hugo's continues to be the destination for premier east and west coast oysters, crudos, frog legs, lobster and seasonal fish and shellfish, in addition to Gibsons Prime Angus and Gibsons Grassfed Australian steaks. An extensive wine list, classic cocktail list and selection of impressive signature desserts accompany the menu of fresh seafood, steaks and chops. Was expecting a sultry little steak house vibe but it was so bright in there it felt like i was at tgi fridays! :/ if the ambiance of this place was better it would be a 5/5 but ugh… too bright in my opinion. our server and everyone was great tho, great wine, food was good, etc. but ya gotta focus on the vibe hugo’s!!

Our last couple of visits have been good not great. Tonight’s experience was not good either. Service was attentive but the food was not prepared well. Son’s ribeye was ordered medium rare - delivered rare had to send back. I ordered the prime rib, server mentioned it would be prepared medium rare- served medium to well. Large portion was all fat which reduced the meat to about 5 ounces. For the price, I would not recommend. My daughters and wife’s fish and chips were not cooked all the way so the fish was cold to the center. Overall, this isn’t on par with a normal Gibson’s experience. Not sure we’ll be back.

Service was amazing. Food was fantastic. Loved the clam chowder and the scallops with risotto were a HIT! And of course the filet was delicious

Seated at our reservation time on a Friday night. Outstanding service, fish was fresh and perfectly cooked. It would be hard to find a better dining experience.

Decent food, but definitely overpriced with the exception of the salad and soup-both good values. Maine and sides extremely overpriced. Chicken dish very dry with so sauce to accompany. Manager was excellent, service was average.
