              Alex our server was fantastic, he gave great recommendations for food and was always there when we needed something. Great food and a lovely location overlooking the beach.

              Until last night Hula Grill was one of my favorite places in Waikiki. I ordered a glass of wine and waited 30 minutes for it to be delivered. The food was unremarkable, not tasty as it had been in many previous visits.

              I requested a table by the rail for my military retirement celebration, 3 hours before my reservation. The host told me that was “only a request, everyone asks for that” while seating me in the 2nd row away as the sun set, with two open tables on the rail that set empty for 20 minutes. The wait she quoted to get that table would have negated the point as the sun set in those 40 minutes she quoted. The food was fine, service was fine, hosting was atrocious and really took the luster off of one of the biggest celebrations of my career, and for no apparent reason. Not pleased.

              The filet mignon was delicious, however the mahi mahi was super tough and overcooked. We were expecting more seafood options, so we were disappointed. The balcony was so sloped on the outside terrace area, it actually gave us a sore back trying to sit straight. Not exaggerating…we were sitting at such an angle it was comical. The service was great though!

              We’ve dined here since 1990’s. Same great view of the beach. Food is delicious but service from reception to server is very slow.

              Had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner here. Great view, great food, great service - what more to ask for? I also appreciated that the turkey dinner was reasonably priced given the occasion. I will be back on my next visit to Honolulu
