Il Terrazzo Carmine, owned and operated by Carmine Smeraldo, is one of Seattle's true dining anomalies - a highly successful restaurant with unfailingly high standards and a loyal, sophisticated clientele. The cuisine has been acclaimed as Seattle's best by the media and more importantly, by local diners.
Il Terrazzo Carmine is located in historic Pioneer Square - nestled in an urban-renewed alley with entrances through the vintage lobby on First Avenue or through the delightful courtyard in the back. Since 1984, Carmine Smeraldo's classic Italian restaurant has been where the locals have chosen to return over and over again. From the Carpaccio Di Bue and Spaghettini Dell 'Ortolano for lunch to the Suprema Di Pollo Farcita and Zuppa Di Pesce for dinner you will know you have gone to a place where excellence is a way of life.     Dinner for 6 last evening to celebrate a milestone birthday. Absolutely everything was perfect. Trio bruschetta is a must starter, best Caesar salad we have ever had. From the veal picatta to the penne with salmon and asparagus and each of the other dishes were perfect. Be sure and save room for the tiramisu. Service attentive but not intrusive added to the success of the evening.

    Everything about my visit was exceptional- Sergio’s and the entire team’s service, delicious cuisine, even a hand-written “Happy Birthday” message and surprise dessert for my guest. Thank you! I’ll definitely be back.

    We had a most wonderful evening at Carmine's. Ryan took special care of us. He made sure it was an evening for us to remember, while providing exceptional service! Thank you Ryan! The rack of lamb, veal chop, sweet breads, carpaccio, all exceptional. Chef Juan, having been there, many years, is still putting out beautiful plates and most delicious food! It was lovely to spend the evening, in a place I've known so well, seeing that it remains one of the best restaurants in Seattle!

    Excellent service & wonderful atmosphere! Pricey=$500 + tip for 4 people. Had a great bottle of wine De Lille for $85. Angel hair pasta with prawns, clams & mussels-prawns overcooked, sauce bland. Gnocchi with tomato sauce delicious, tasty Caesar salad.

    This restaurant exceeded expectations! Short walk from Lumen Field, impeccable service, delicious food. Our server, Kyle, was professional, knowledgeable and attentive. All restaurant staff were courteous and helpful. Food was very good! Gnocchi was light and tender and the shrimp saffron risotto was excellent. My wife and I brought a bottle of wine from our cellar and Kyle opened it for us without any discernible attitude. We also split the caprese salad and it was served on two plates for our convenience. Just an excellent experience all around. Will definitely return here.
