Something has changed. Imperial was consistently reliable as a place of innovative Asian food, a varied menu, and quiet dining. Perhaps a new chef has taken over? The crab-cheese wontons were tough on the outside instead of lightly crispy. There was no black bean sauce on Chilean Sea Bass, only generic brown sauce. The Peking Duck, always a favorite, was dry. Our waiter was very attentive when he was at the table, but I think they are running on a very small staff. It took a long time to get water refilled, and we couldn't find him for many minutes. Then there was the music, a very strange 70's funk that was way too loud. Not sure we will go back anytime soon.

Christmas night dinner is always a pleasure at Imperial. They were super busy, some people knew what to expect, others didn’t. Our food was quick and delicious but we were only a party of two. Thanks again, Imperial!

2 menus for 5 people, took forever, out of half of the things we tried to order including all appetizers

They were not staffed properly. Had to to a different restaurant as it was a 1.5 hour wait.

We think there were only two waiters. We arrived for reservation at 230pm and our waiter didn’t come by until 305pm. We left at 445pm. Unfortunate that there wasn’t enough help on Christmas Day. Will be back but unsure about on a holiday.

Imperial Palace is a landmark restaurant in Denver and has been my favorite for decades. They are consistent in their food. And the best sesame chicken hands down.
