Executive Chef, Alex McPhail has returned to his hometown after 6 years studying under some of the finest chefs in the industry in New Orleans. Taking culinary tips he picked up at Commander’s Palace, Restaurant August & the Roosevelt Hotel, Alex has created a dining environment unlike any other nearby.
Restaurant IRON serves Southern contemporary cuisine fueled by local vegetables and herbs from the creative minds of true Southerners. We aim to bring together fresh local and regional specialties with the finest flavors and ingredients to deliver a dining experience you won't soon forget.

    The escargot was our absolute favorite! The frenched wings are just perfect , but then the foie gras.. it’s an intense dining experience but in the best of ways so much flavor and everything is plated beautifully. To top it all off, the drinks were incredible – especially the Golden Boy definitely a must try. Highly recommend Iron for an elevated and delicious experience.

    The food was fantastic. The service was top notch. Our waitress was absolutely fantastic as well. We showed up 45 minutes early hoping to have a drink while we waited. But they were able to set us so we could start our experience. We would definitely recommend and go back next time we are in town.

    The food is great but I don’t think the restaurant inside have a good ambience they need to re think the tables to make the experience more cozy you feel like in a breakfast restaurant inside basically sharing the table with the person next to you so close . For a date you will like more privacy !

    The server was friendly and knowledgeable. The food was excellent and made to perfection as once our specialty drinks. Great service!

    My husband and I grew up in Pensacola and drive down from Atlanta every couple of years. In recent years, one of the things we most look forward to is dining at Iron. The bar is our first stop and it’s nice to see the same barkeep each time, who creates wonderful balanced cocktails, such as the King Cake Whisky Sour I enjoyed this trip. My husband kept it classic with a Sazerac. The food was equally delicious. We started with a gnocchi and escargot dish and I had a creative spicy salmon. My husband enjoyed duck with Foie Gras. Iron is a great restaurant.

    Enjoyed our dinner. Always very detailed and pretty plates. Quantity could be a bit more. Ambiance could be better.

    Counter seating, overlooking the kitchen. Saw much that we wanted to eat!!! Attentive and beautiful from cooking to plating. Great experience!

    We tried this restaurant for our son’s birthday. All three of us were unimaginative and ordered the filet mignon. We all agreed that this was the best steak we’ve had in a long time. You could pick two sides with the meat. We all got a Caesar salad. The guys got garlic mashed and I ordered the broccolini. The whole meal was outstanding. Our server was attentive and explained the menu. They comped a birthday dessert. We will definitely be back to try a variety on the menu next time. Glad they change the menu every couple of months. Makes you want to come back to see what new things they’ve come up with.
