Izanami serves Japanese Izakaya fare: seasonally inspired small-plates meant for sharing, accompanied by the best sake list in the west. Please note that while we do our best to accommodate your seating, we cannot guarantee requests. We have been chosen by OpenTable diners as one of the 100 best restaurants for outdoor dining in America. Heaters and blankets assure you of a comfortable, safe dining experience year-round; dress warmly for optimal outdoor dining.
*NOTICE* Please expect delays beginning 04/22/24 due to construction on the main road up the mountain. Seek alternative routes to avoid delays. This construction is expected to go until August of 2024. Arigato.
Zozobra is an an annual event that kicks off the fiesta season in Santa Fe. For this event, Murales Road will close from 7 AM–5 PM, from Valle del Sol to Cuesta del Norte for fireworks set-up, and Bishop's Lodge to Gonzales Road from 3PM-11PM. Take Gonzales Rd up to the restaurant and give yourself an extra 10 min.

    You have reserved a true traditional Japanese experience floor seating (with no well under the table for legs). Remove your shoes, and take a step onto our tatami room. A garden window view completes this unique dining experience. This is a unique experience, but it can be challenging for those with limited flexibility. Please let us know in advance if you need to change these reservations, as we will not be able to offer other options upon arrival. Children under 10 are not recommended.

    One of my favorite places. The fried spicy tuna is amazing. Would of loved to be able to use the traditional Japanese dinning room for our meal but were informed that is only available for dinner.

    Excellent pre fixe menu. The pork leg was tender, flavorful and moist. All the sides were delicious. We had an outstanding service staff person. She was very knowledgeable about the menu and the sake offerings.

    The pre-fixe Thanksgiving feast was amazing. Every morsel was so delicious! Our table sampled all the options and each one was as good as the others. Bravo Izanami! For taking just the right twists and turns for an evocative yet non-traditional holiday meal. I hope it happens again next year.
