J. Gilbert's is an "upscale casual" steakhouse serving prime-aged beef cooked over a mesquite wood-fired grill. Guests enjoy various cuts of steak, fresh seafood (including award-winning crab cakes) & other house made favorites like the Maytag Bleu potato chips & Carrot Cake. The cozy atmosphere includes fire side dining, rich wood, brick & soft lighting where you can enjoy a quiet table or host a large party. The extensive martini & wine list offers the perfect compliment to an excellent meal delivered with attentive service. J. Gilbert's is open for weekend lunch, dinner 7 days a week & Sunday Brunch.     This was our first time celebrating Thanksgiving at a restaurant and it was wonderful. J. Gilbert’s is our place for special occasions, so it was our choice for this holiday. The menu was very traditional, which is what we wanted, and there was no skimping on portions. Of course, it didn’t compare to what we make at home, but the trade-off was that we avoided all that work and clean up just for the two of us. Happily, we will have turkey sandwiches for a couple of days - our favorite part of Thanksgiving. Our waiter was very personable and gave us just the right amount of attention. The ambiance was perfect and the noise level was low. It was such a lovely evening!

    Four of us spent a delightful Thanksgiving at J Gilbert's. The staff is exceptionally courteous and accommodating. Our server was terrific. She answered questions, provided suggestions and demonstrated the highest degree of professionalism. One cannot say enough about the Holiday menu. It offered a wide variety of the traditional fixings, served in magnanimous portions. We all took the leftovers home.

    We go to J. Gilbert’s often. It’s one of our favorite restaurants in the DC area. This time we went there for Thanksgiving. The food and service were outstanding. Our Thanksgiving dinner was delicious. Our only issue was with the wait time to get seated. Our reservation for six was for 3:15pm, but we were not seated until closer to 4pm. We think the restaurant should have done a better job in managing reservations for such a busy day.

    We enjoyed our dining experience at J. Gilbert’s today. The food was excellent and hot. I ordered the Thanksgiving special and everything was delicious. The customer service was great. Christian was friendly and attentive to our table. I will definitely go back and recommend.

    Very nice Thanksgiving feast. Our server, Jenesis, was great! I'm sure we'll go back to try the steaks. Only drawback was the smokey smell (from char-broiling). My hair smelled like smoke for hours. And, of course, it was very loud (like most restaurants these days).

    Dinner for two 1 wedge salad delicious but bacon was hard as actual pebbles 1 steak cooked perfectly 1 steak overcooked 1 mash potatoes delicious 1 baked potato undercooked (hard) 2 asparagus only 3 each and 1/3 bottom inedible stalks Drinks and dessert were perfect Server was antisocial and checked in like a tornado. Had to request prefix menu. Wait time and cook time were excellent Overall enjoyable but previously much better experiences
