J. Gilbert's is an "upscale casual" steakhouse serving prime-aged beef cooked over a mesquite wood-fired grill. Guests enjoy various cuts of steak, fresh seafood (including award-winning crab cakes) & other house made favorites like the Blue Cheese potato chips & Chocolate Velvet Cake. The cozy atmosphere includes, rich wood, brick & soft lighting where you can enjoy an intimate table or host a private party. The extensive martini & wine list offers the perfect compliment to an excellent meal delivered with attentive service. J. Gilbert's is open for dinner 7 days a week and can be booked for private luncheons. Reservations are highly recommended.

    We just moved here from Dallas, Texas. We celebrated our brother-in-law‘s birthday at your restaurant . The waitress took my order - a glass of champagne but I was given a different champagne than I ordered. I ordered a dry champagne and got a sweet one, but after a conversation where she said I was incorrect - she came back saying I was right- The champagne I ordered they happened to not have and gave me a different one. Yes it was sweet. We corrected that and then it all was good. Our food was absolutely delicious -served warm -the steaks were as good as what we get in Dallas yes -at very high in steakhouses . The only downside to the whole evening was the music was too loud. It was hard for us to visit at a normal speaking level…which really puts a damper on such a lovely evening & restaurant with such great food. We will return- the evening was an over all great experience!

    We’ve been coming here for my husbands birthday for 5 years. My husband says they have the best steak out of all steakhouses in town! I always get the pork chop because I absolutely love it! Everything about them is wonderful from the food, to the service and the ambiance. We’ll be back next year I’m sure!!

    The steak was cooked to perfection and the apple croustade was to die for. Sides are just so-so, we had the roasted asparagus and citrus broccolini.

    J. Gilbert’s offers a warm, inviting atmosphere, but unfortunately, the food didn’t quite live up to expectations. The appetizers were underwhelming—while the charcuterie board was a steep $26, the rest of the options didn’t justify their price tags. For example, the blue cheese potato chips at $16 felt overpriced for what they were. The drinks were standard fare—smoked old fashioneds and seasonal assortments that got the job done but weren’t particularly memorable. For my entrée, I ordered the 18-ounce bone-in ribeye cowboy cut, served with mashed potatoes and poblano au gratin potatoes. The steak itself was average at best, and after a few bites, I found myself reaching for salt and pepper, as it lacked seasoning. The mashed potatoes were flavorful, but the poblano au gratin was a complete miss—bland, under-seasoned, and bordering on undercooked. The layered presentation, resembling lasagna, didn’t do it any favors either. After two bites, I gave up on it entirely. My partner ordered the filet mignon with asparagus and the same au gratin potatoes, and after one bite, she pushed them aside as well. Service was solid—the waiter was attentive and friendly throughout the meal. However, we opted to skip dessert. At nearly $200 for the meal, I couldn’t help but feel that we could have had a much better dining experience elsewhere for the same price. While I appreciate trying new places, this visit was more disappointing than memorable. Would I return? No.
