Celebrating the professional football career of Joe Theismann and the American traditions surrounding professional sports, Joe Theismann's Restaurant presents a menu of upscale bar and pub fare, plus a full bar featuring beer, wine and craft cocktails. The restaurant is centered around a main dining area with flat-screen TVs for watching the game, plus an intimate lounge area flanked by leather sofas, and secondary dining room that can be closed off for private events. The overall experience was good. We had a great waiter and the restaurant itself has a nice ambiance. Management was kind enough to check in too. However, our food was very salty. We are vegetarians and ordered impossible burgers and fries. We frequently asked our waiter for more water because we were so thirsty due to the salt. I would suggest the management change something with the recipes to reduce the salt content. This was our third visit and prior dishes seemed salty too. While we enjoyed the dishes and overall taste of the food, we will most likely not return.

Love, love, looove this place! Food is great! Happy hour is legit the pull part garlic bread and the crab dip are absolute favorites, location is very convenient. I work across the way and I always recommend Theismann’s to my guests for a quick reasonable bite. Vibes are awesome and extremely welcoming definitely a regular for life.

This is a great place to walk to if staying at the Embassy Suites in Old Town Alexandria. A special shout out to our wonderful, attentive server! I think his name was Bernard.

This place was so good that I did a review as soon as I got in the car. A very nice upscale bar. Cozy and comfortable atmosphere. Bernard provided excellent service. Every thing we ordered was absolutely delicious and we are definitely returning in the near future.

Went for Xmas dinner - completely sorry we did. Carving station meats were all lukewarm to just cold. Carver was literally using his hand to put a sliced piece of Prime Rib on my plate. Manager wanted to set us way in the back room with literally no one else in there. Then lectured me on 'how a restaurant works' when I asked him to seat us in the main room where there was plenty of tables. The service was sub par and servers always distracted doing anything else, usually standing and talking with other servers. Very poor experience, food was just bad and mostly cold. Won't ever be going back.

I don't usually care for buffet style but they did an excellent job. Food was hot and well prepared. One note...in a very dark room, it was difficult to identify the food selections. Font used on ID cards was impossible to read. Put some light on the subject !

Joe Theismann's has always been our go to place for over 10 years. We opted to go here for Christmas because of the convenience. The only issue we had on this particular night was that we were not aware that there would be a "buffet" only service. We thought were would be able to choose from the menu. When we got there we were informed of the choice. The food was good as always but we were disappointed in the fact that spending what we spent, we were not able to take home our leftovers which we normally do. We loved our server and he was very attentive to us. It would just have been nice to know that the menu has changed. Other than that, we will continue to go to there.
