Tucked away on 12 acres of lawns & gardens, the Joseph Ambler Inn is the ideal setting for a truly memorable dining experience. Contemporary American cuisine, featuring a wide variety of casual and traditional menu offerings. The Dining room is located in the renovated stone barn & features hardwood floors, exposed stone walls, & farmstyle ambiance. Tables in the JPub are on a first come first served basis. Terrace dining is also available in the warmer months.

                                                  The restaurant had no real feeling as an INN. It was ultimately a bunch of square tables and chairs, people talking so damn loudly I couldn’t hear myself talk to my wife. The food was standard fair, wine selection was weak and the service was ok. Not a very fancy place for a $200 bill (with tip). No real negative experience but it’s probably ok for folks who live in the local area. I’ve been on a journey to eat at old INNs - looking for those weird old rooms that are a hodge podge with fireplaces and old carpets - this wasn’t one of them. Oh well!

                                                  Always a wonderful meal at JAI…especially at the holidays! Our service was outstanding since we had Sean once again. He is so friendly, kind and efficient. The champagne chicken is my go-to dish and never fails to please! Looking forward to my next visit already!

                                                  While limited, the (lunch) menu does have some intriguing selections. For the most part, the food was served in a timely fashion and with good presentation. My wife had the crab cake. It was very salty. I had the lobster roll, which was very good. Overall, I wound call the experience ‘decent’, if not average.

                                                  The bar is very nice and we were served great cocktails. Enjoyed an excellent JAI wedge salad and salmon entree. My wife enjoyed the scallops entree. A very relaxing dinner and excellent service from Tina who took great care of us.

                                                  Portions have definitely changed here, although pricing stayed the same. We eat here often enough to see the difference. They are also using different rectangular plates to serve the meals vs the large round ones. Food is still delicious and our server, Emma, was great.
