It was a really good experience because the food was excellent as well as the service. The staff is warm and welcoming and our meal was served promptly so it gave us time to relax and enjoy our meal before heading over to the theater with plenty of time. The prices are high and the menu isn’t as extensive as other Katsuya restaurants but it was fine for a special occasion.

It’s hard to find a Japanese “comfort food” restaurant in a trendy environment like Katsuya. There are many sushi restaurants but Katsuya offers sushi and a lot more. Hollywood needs this type of restaurant. I live across the street but even if I didn’t, I would still make the effort to travel to Hollywood.

Nice server, but excruciating slow service. We were the first table sat, but we were not greeted first, we were greeted 3rd-4th. First round of drinks took 15+ minutes to come out while other tables had theirs out almost immediately. Desserts + 1 drink at the end took 25 minutes to come out. Server only checked on us after we finished our food and to take dessert order. Nearly canceled the last ordered items because of how long it took. Management presence was nonexistent.

My family and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner here before the show at the Pantages Theatre. This restaurant is very close to the theatre and a great place to have a delicious meal either before or after the show. The hose that greeted us was very friendly and made us welcome. Our server was excellent! I would love to eat here again.

Bring your own light if you want to be able to read the menu The light level is ridiculously low Service is lousy. Interrupted our conversation many times No kitchen coordination, Dishes arrived totally at random times, one member at our table got his fried rice, although excellent, once everyone else had finished their food. Food is good but Hollywood prices0 Cocktails excellent
