King Umberto had brought the delicious taste of Italy to the corner of Hempstead Turnpike and Meacham Avenue since 1976. We offer a welcoming elegant decor with superior service, perfect for any large group or parties of two. In addition to having a warm atmosphere we carry an extensive wine list, that consists of over 350 wines, with years vertical, and is recognized by Wine Spectator Magazine with an award of excellence in 2010. When it comes to our large selection of generous mouth watering appetizers and main courses we know how to please. Famous for the original Fried Capellini® and daily specials prepared by executive chefs Pietro Fuschetto and Giovanni Lombardi. Our menu is classic Italian cuisine with a worldly influence and will surely leave you satisfied, but you can't seem to leave without indulging in our homemade desserts.

    I really wanted to love this place. Servers are nice, the space is gorgeous, especially for Christmas but the food is what drives it down. Bland or over salted, I wish they cared more about what they served because it could be so much more.

    Always fun to visit King Umbertos. They have remained so consistent over the years. They were really hoppin last night, but dinner flowed nicely. Wait staff was great.

    First time dining here and it was a wonderful experience. The service here is better than anywhere else I’ve ever been. We ordered the burrata, prosciutto and fig appetizer and the eggplant rollatini appetizer, both were lovely, really enjoyed the red sauce on the eggplant parm. I ordered the rigatoni with vodka sauce as my entree and my husband ordered the chicken and shrimp Gennaro special, everything was so well made and tasted amazing! We didn’t have room for dessert but the menu looked amazing, I can’t believe there were so many options for desserts!

    Was very disappointed with the bus boy last night Had an attitude with two people at our table one when we asked for lamp to be removed if possible and second when we asked for cheese to remain in table Just nasty Usually everything is great love your restaurant Service was also very slow Couldn’t find waiter or anyone to give us water place our order etc I know it’s a very busy time of year but to take over two and a half hours for four people to eat is a bit long and it would of been longer had I not kept asking other waiters who weren’t our waiter to help us Brought my friends there for the first time and they were a bit disappointed I know serving people isn’t an easy job and were very easy going ladies but his attitude was not called for at all Food was delicious as usual ambience so pretty Just the attitude long wait were disappointing to potential new customers

    It was WAY TOO BUSY. Wedding just cleared out of other room. Our service then suffered. Food took way too long and had to flag waiter for drinks.

    The food is on point and fresh. The decor for holiday is definitely a draw. Little warm with the large heat machines but better than being cold. The restaurant staff was super attentive and kind!

    Great dinner. Their servers were very good at reading that I didn’t want to be rushed so the service was paced nicely. The food was amazing, as always. 10/10, highly recommend.
