Established in 2003, King’s Fish House is Carlsbad’s choice for seafood. Located just across from the Carlsbad Premium outlets and LEGOLAND, King’s Fish House features a large selection of fresh oysters, seasonal catches, sushi and live shellfish, including lobster and crab, on a menu that changes daily.

We’ve been in restaurants a little while – three generations, to be precise. A long time ago, we embarked on a road trip in search of the ultimate seafood experience. We traveled down highways and byways, pulled up a seat, put on bibs and soaked up the seafood experience: the no-name dishes with unforgettable flavor, the fresh-caught oysters and clams piled high, the hand-lettered specials on ancient chalkboards and the savory simmer of every combination of spices imaginable.

    Nice place to go albeit noisy. The tables and booths are lined up so that you always seem to be in the service path. We were initially seated in front of a door to the outside with a cold blast coming through every time somebody open the door. However, Service was solid if not great. Food as usual was very good. In my experience over many years here, this place is very consistent. If you want a reliable meal at a reasonably comfortable place with dependable service this is a great choice.

    The rainbow roll is wonderful. Very fresh. The tuna salad is a favorite. Great service.

    We had a wonderful evening, food was delicious and our server was great. Her name was Brook. So friendly and attentive.

    Waiter was great. Food was decent but menu overstates what you actually get. For example I ordered the Jumbo Mexican Shrimp and got regular sized shrimp. They priced these as Jumbo shrimp but instead I got $5 worth of previously frozen shrimp. Pretty lame and disappointing.

    Good experience overall for a busy night. The food was pretty bad though. The crab was basically frozen, full of very cold water. So sad that they didn’t have any steamed crab on the menu for Ny Eve! The artichoke was very dry and over done and same w the toasted carrots! The fish dish was good and the baked potato and clam chowder was good. Not the greatest experience. Server Sierra was energetic and had good personality:) we didn’t complain about the food, but it wasn’t great. We very rarely go out in NYE for this reason. Kings usually pretty good!!

    Our waiter Kevin was friendly and fun and brought us everything we needed when we asked for it! It was a very pleasurable happy hour meal!
