We are Open for Thanksgiving, see site for special menu and hours, but at this time please call for reservation availability.
"The place where New Yorkers eat"
Knickerbocker is known for its great Jazz and its 28 oz. T- Bone Steaks and is a favorite among many celebrities including F. Murray Abraham, Chris Noth and Alec Baldwin. Racheal Ray listed us in her "NYC Favorites" and has praised our Shrimp Cocktail, Creamed Spinach, and of course our T- Bone Steaks.
The word "Knickerbocker" itself, says "New York". Upon entering, you’ll know you're in the Village. Its wood paneled walls sport rare turn of the century posters and original caricatures by Al Hirschfeld. Large leather booths line the walls and brass rails accent the 100 year old marble bar, where Charles Lindbergh signed his Trans Atlantic contract.
We have survived the times by using the freshest ingredients from local markets, and offering good solid value and quality.

Parking details
Parking on the street is usually easy to find. The meters finish at 7:00pm, and the other street parking is available after 6:00pm. There are parking lots on the approach to the restaurant on 9th street or 8th street.
Public transit
The 6 train at Astor place, or the R & N to 8th street are just a block away. Other stations like Union Square & West 4th street are just a short walk away and have most train lines.

Knickerbocker has had "Live Jazz" since the days when the village had "Live Jazz". Harry Connick Jr. got his start here, back in the late 80"s. Names like Junior Mance, Bucky Pizzarelli and Ben Wolf now show up on our schedule.We have live jazz on Friday & Saturday nights, starting at 9:45pm till 2:00am. There is a small $3.50 cover charge at the tables after 10:15 pm, or just stop in at the bar for a drink, with no cover.

The early Seating has seating times 6:00, 6:30, 7:00, 7:30, No Music Charge The Late seating times are 9:30, 10:00, 10:30, 11:00, $30 pp Music Charge Early seating flips into Late seating. Late seating will have Noise makers, Party hats, Poppers. Menu will be listed on our Website by Dec 1.

We have been to Knickerbocker before, and specifically selected it again for our latest visit to NYC. As usual, the food was great and we especially enjoyed the jazz being played at just the right level for both enjoyment and good conversation. Keep up the good work, Knick!

Delicious food, nice staff from the Maitre’D to the waiters and even the busboys! I recommend the T-Bone. We have dined here many times and look forward to coming back many times.

We hadn’t been here for a while. So we came to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. It was great Old New York feel, good music at a talking level, great service with Vance, a redhead like ourselves and we had a nostalgic and memorable time there. We met the chef who spoke with us. She was sweet. We will frequent more often!

Knickerbockers has been a favorite of mine for many years and it never fails to deliver a quality meal in a great space. Quintessential New York, it's the place to go, whether it's for a quick late night bite or a holiday or a family event or a business meal. I love this place!

I am a regular at the Knickerbocker. The food is always delicious and well-prepared, the service always pleasant and attentive, the T-bone and filets always just exactly right. Good drinks, excellent desserts. There’s a reason I always go back: it’s the perfect neighborhood restaurant

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner. We had petit filets and they were cooked to perfection. Drinks were good and our waitress was very attentive. We will definitely be back.
