La Chaumière is as close as it gets to dining in a French country inn. Celebrating 48 years, La Chaumière features traditional dishes like escargots en coquille, boudin blanc, quenelles of pike, cassoulet and Grand Marnier souffle. Chef Javier's specials reflect a modern approach to seasonal produce, seafood and game with favorites like baked oysters, Dover sole and our speciality, housemate Boudin Blanc. La Chaumière has won the 100 Best Restaurants award 29 times since 1978! We will be serving Al fresco as soon as the weather permits, please reserve, outdoor space is limited. Parking is available at the Four Seasons Hotel for $30 with validation stamp.

                                                                                  Celebrated my husband’s birthday. Brought some friends with us too! Their first visit and they absolutely loved the restaurant, the ambiance, our favorite Server, Marcello and of course the main attraction, the food!! La Chaumiere introduced some new specials and cocktails for 2025! We all tried a new dish and Chef did an amazing job! Thank you all for a wonderful evening.                                                                                   La Chaumiere has one of the best menus for French cuisine in Washington, with many dishes rarely seen outside of classical restaurant's in France. Quenelles, Dover sole, Oefs en Meurette , sweetbreads, and savory soufflés, and other specials make this a treat at every visit. The service is excellent with real, adult, professional staff that enhance the experience. This cozy bistro with a center of the room fireplace is a gem.

                                                                                  Good but not great. My salad was overdressed and the greens were a little brown and wilted. My husband’s steak was ok and the potatoes were a little bland. Not what you would expect from a Michelin star restaurant. The apple tart was amazing as was the cheese soufflé!!! Small but charming decor with wood beams, an open fireplace and copper molds on the wall.
