Franco and Noe Landini are the proud hosts of Landini Brothers restaurant. Located in the heart of Old Town Alexandria, and close to the Potomac River, Landini Brothers is a well-established landmark in Northern Virginia. It has been serving northern Italian food in the traditional Tuscan style since it opened in 1976. Franco's annual visits to his family and friends in Tuscany provide him with ample opportunity to learn about the latest advances in Tuscan cuisine—knowledge he brings home for the dining pleasure of restaurant guests. As soon we got there, we got the table but the server was slow to get the menu for us. We asked for the refills for water but they never come back. But other than that everything was good.

The space feels warm, covered in stone, unique paintings, wood and warm colors all around. It’s got a great vibe. We arrived 15 mins early to our reserved time. The host said to come back exactly at our reservation time. This seemed a little stuffy to me. We came back right on the dot and still waited around for our table. The hosts never welcomed us, or even tried to be inviting. A simple, “sorry, we’re really busy tonight,” would have been acceptable. Immediately, when seated we were handed menus and asked our water preference. Then we were ignored for 20 minutes while servers walked past us over and over. Finally a server came to the table and asked if we’d like a drink, I mentioned we never got a drink menu. The server never told us the specials, again, the experience felt very unwelcoming for the service I expected with this decor. Food was average in taste, I didn’t leave thinking I need to come back to taste it again. The portions and prices were fair though, which was nice. Overall, come for the atmosphere but don’t expect anything too much when it comes to the service or food quality at Landini Brothers. They are busy, but I imagine more because of the ambiance and location than because of the quality. Don’t be fooled.

I fly my wife out for a Valentines Dinner. I could not book on Valentines Day, so I chose to book on the next day. I requested a seat with a view. What we got was a very small table by the stairs. This was not the setting I was hoping to provide for my wife.

Table upstairs was nice, a little brighter and quieter than downstairs, however can smell cigar smoke from the cigar bar next store.

The food was good. Bottle of white wine came warm - took time to chill, so not ready to drink with food. The ambiance would be lovely except for the stench of cigar smoke from cigar bar next door. Should add air purifiers.

As usual, the service, food, and drinks, were outstanding. We had our favorite server, Luis. My Apple Martini was one of the best I’ve had and the Short Rib Raviolis were wonderful.

My husband and I enjoyed an early Valentine’s Day dinner! The food was delicious (as always) and the service outstanding (thank you Fernanda)!

I can’t tell you how much I normally love this restaurant. I frequent it and even take friends for celebrating birthdays etc. I’m not sure what was going on last night. Noticed a lot of new staff. Waited at the table (it wasn’t busy yet as it was before dinner rush) for 30 min before anyone came to see if we would like drinks and we had to ask if they had specials (they always do). We ordered drinks (2 people for context) and the wine came out relatively quickly. We placed our dinner order. The food came out before my friends drink ever arrived. It was not a great experience. I hope this was just an off night. Disappointed.

This is an exceptional restaurant. The service is superb, so attentive. The food is delicious with an extensive menu. The ambiance is lovely. Definitely a gem.
