Located in the heart of the the Most Beautiful Square in Texas, City Post Chophouse began its story as a post office in the 1930s, during the Great Depression and Prohibition. Nearly a century later, the beautifully renovated historic building now offers an elevated dining experience, live music and private events.Executive Chef Adrian Corkill has curated a stand-out menu, featuring fine cuts and chops of beef, lamb, and pork, as well as fresh seafood and decadent side dishes served family style, along with unique handcrafted cocktails.     We went for Valentines Day on Thursday night instead of Friday because we couldn’t get a reservation for Friday. Absolutely everything we had we so delicious. We had the charcuterie starter, the house salad, the half hen and lobster tail dinners. Our servers were excellent, checking on us but not bothering us. I was surprised that the bill wasn’t as bad as I’d been expecting for all the food we had!!

    My partner and i were celebrating our birthdays with cousins. We had the most wonderful experience with excellent Old Fashions, and a series of tasty appetizers. Green beans, lamb chops, Tuna Tataki, Oysters and Ginzo shrimp. A nice botttle of Cabernet sealed the deal.

    Their marinara sauce is fabulous. Coming from an Italian from New York that’s a compliment! The service by both Lauren and Amy was stellar.  the meal did take an hour and a half to arrive at The table. So please plan on that for whenever you plan to dine here, as it is typical to wait a long time for the food. I believe things are made from complete scratch. It’s worth the wait —if you are with good company and don’t mind waiting so long.
