Thank you for choosing Sansei Kapalua OpenTable, please note we are located on the island of Maui in Kapalua. If you do not see your desired dining time please call the host team direct. Sansei Seafood Restaurant and Sushi Bar in Kapalua was named One of the Best Sushi Bars in America by Bon Appetit. We are the most popular Contemporary Japanese restaurant on Maui. Sansei has a variety of scrumptious sushi and seafood items that are legendary. Sansei serves incredibly delectable dishes such as our famous miso butter fish, shrimp dynamite, steak, grilled pork chops, smoked duck and delicious noodles. Please come and bring the Ohana as we accommodate walk-in guests. Walk-in wait times vary due to flow of the restaurant they could be as little as 30 minutes or upward of 1.5 hours. Please be advised we have not opened sushi bar seating since closing due to Covid. Early Bird Special every Sunday and Monday from 5:00pm-5:45pm, Everyone is on a walk-in basis for this Special offer.

Dine at the most breathtaking oceanfront setting in Kapalua Resort. Peter Merriman Chef/Restauranteur has brought his unique style of Hawaii Regional Cuisine to Maui. A pioneer in the “Farm to Table” concept, Peter serves only the freshest products, at least 90% of which are locally grown or caught, using only sustainable methods.Reservations are released 60 days prior at 6am HST. This includes all holidays. Although we cannot accommodate parties larger than 8 people or split reservations in our main dining room, we do have other options available.     Wonderful dinner out in Kapalua (we stayed at the Ritz with a <5 min walk). Started with an excellent burrata - we chose the pear and honey - and we enjoyed our fresh pasta dinners. Will return on our next trip back!

    Sansei is our go-to sushi restaurant on Maui. Fish is super fresh. Amazing original dishes including the panko ahi roll and shrimp dynamite are musts! Daily sushi specials as well as daily sushi is A+.

    We had a fabulous time and the food was fantastic! Our waiter Tad was knowledgeable and gave us great recommendations. The beet salad is delicious! We had the special fish which was moist, well seasoned and cooked perfectly. It was a preparation I wouldn’t normally choose, but I’m trying to eat healthier and normally lentils with vegetables wouldn’t be my “go to”, but this was so flavorful and satisfying. We also had the ribeye special with the herbed butter. Again, a dish cooked perfectly with wonderful flavors. The mashed potatoes were the best I have ever enjoyed! Noah, checked in on us and our meal and was quite engaging and very fun. We enjoyed our meal and the beautiful ambiance of Traverna. It’s not to be missed when on Maui and we will be back soon! Thank you!
