The restaurant is named after America’s most famous founding father, Benjamin Franklin. While he was pinnacle in America’s birth, he also became the first ambassador to France. While on trips to Paris, he would wine and dine with the best of them and when he returned, he would bring back the French culture, food and wine, and share it with our new nation. Dishes like Potato Lyonnaise and Crème Brulée were the first of his favorites he shared with America. The Benjamin reflects that bridged gap between the two countries’ cultures. The restaurant and bar is french-inspired, but uniquely American. It sits in Ridgefield's historic district in a 1875 house, but the interiors are modern, elegant and new. The drinks were very good and the food was good. The service was also very good. They tag teamed so we were waited upon by 3 separate people but they kept everything flowing. I have been there several times and it keeps getting better.

The atmosphere is hopping. The bar seems quite popular and the tables were full and animated. The servers were so busy taking care of customers and checking in, I kept bumping elbows on them. The servers really hustle here. All the food was delicious. I loved the eggplant napoleon, but I could’ve ordered 10 other tapas on the menu and been very happy. Will definitely return.
