ELEM is a new restaurant and cocktail lab on Main + 5th. Guests can expect to indulge in Top Chef Canada alum Mayekar’s bold cooking, featuring creative flavour-packed dishes that highlight the unique spices from cuisines around the world with local ingredients, alongside Winnie Sun’s inventive, element-inspired and sustainability-driven cocktails.ELEM’s food menu is an exploration of flavours and spices from all corners of the world, including Bangkok, California, Spain, Mexico, Italy, and Mumbai – all inspired by Mayekar’s extensive travels and Indian heritage. There will also be a big focus on local BC-grown ingredients. The 2,946 square foot, 76-seat space was designed by Vancouver-based Marko Simcich Architect and features three dining spaces and an open window into the kitchen to see the chefs at work.

After opening for less than a year, we were honoured with Michelin Guide's prestigious BIB GOURMAND for exceptional value and quality.Our beautiful space is designed by renown local architects Scott & Scott Architects.     We were blown away with the cocktails and the food...the creativity in taking all the individual ingredients to another level of taste!! Also, what made the meal so memorable and enjoyable was the knowledge the waiter's imparted on us with regards to each item that was served. We opted to try the tasting menu and were not disappointed with the dishes that were served! We see ourselves going back when we're back in town. Cheers to the management and the team at ELEM!

    The food was really very good, with a nice selection - something for everyone is great! The music was horrifically loud and bass-y, especially for a lunchtime vibe. Great vintage decor, and ever-changing because most of what you see is available for purchase.

    The food was so comforting and delicious. The rib dish melted in my mouth. The service was incredible - kind, thoughtful, and just really lovely. It’s hard to put into words, but the service just felt so genuine. They were perfectly accommodating of my food sensitivities, even making a substitution with a cilantro chutney that was so good I was eating it by the spoonful, which was a big bonus. This was our 3rd time there and every time it’s just great.

    We always love Steamworks! They’re so accommodating of our pets on the patio and the food is amazing and vegan inclusive. The wait staff are fantastic and the manager is personable and kind. Thank you!
