Sal was an original, one of a kind. He brought us the art of Italian food that dates back to the “old country”, and we’re honored to carry on his tradition. Sal grew up in a small town in Sicily, where he spent years helping his mother in the kitchen. In the 1960’s he began his American journey, working under a chef on Long Island, where, according to Sal, he learned a few tricks. Sal would soon carry his old country Italian tradition, mixed with some New York flare, to Middle Tennessee. By this time, he had Italian food and classic New York style pizza down to an art. Sal was an authentic, never compromising on quality, freshness, or passion. Here at Sal’s we are carrying on his legacy in everything from our made daily dough, to our homemade sauces. In everything we do, we sprinkle in authenticity, tradition, and a lot of love.

    We love Etch. We have been regularly visiting Etch downtown Nashville for over 10 years. The food is always delicious and amazing. First time visiting Etch in Franklin. Everyone was wonderful. I would like to mention that my catfish needed salt. Otherwise, it was an awesome experience as usual.

    The food was excellent. Was a nice Valentines dinner. There were several small kids around us. So a bit loud for a quiet meal. But I know that can’t be helped. Overall this was our first time and we will be back.

    My wife and I both ordered pork chops for our lunch entrées. I am not one who usually orders pork chops at a steakhouse, but I must say this was perhaps the best pork chop I have ever eaten. Wonderful flavor and about 3 inches thick. Outstanding. The fried asparagus tips were also outstanding. Cheesecake with white chocolate topping was also exceptional. One thing that did take us aback when our check arrived was the house red wine that we ordered cost more than our entrées! $25 for a 7 ounce glass of wine? I’m sorry, but that is just out and out price gouging. We could buy a whole bottle of modest wine for $25. Again the meal was great as usual, but had we known that two glasses of house wine would cost $50 there’s no way we would have ordered that. We will know better next time.

    Although a bit loud for a quiet, romantic dining experience, this restaurant is superb. The service was excellent, we felt appreciated being there for the first time (we even got a special treat). The menu had a decent number of plates and the portion size was good (not huge). The flavors we experienced were delightful, a very unique set of combinations. The Pork chops and the green salad, as well as the Kale Salad and Shrimp and Grits were delicious! The Cocktails we had were excellent Loving Cup and Midnight Sun were perfectly balanced with a good level of alcohol, no skimping on anything at Red Pony.
