L’Ostal is a Provencal restaurant rooted in history and tradition celebrating the cuisines of Southern France & its boundaries. Stemming from the old Occitania language, the word ‘ostal’ refers to house & the warmth of hospitality that encompasses welcoming one into your home. Throughout the six dialects of this language starting in Catalonia, stretching through the Languedoc into Provence and onto the Alps of Piemonte, they all embrace this welcoming through their cooking. We celebrate the traditions of each country through their amazing cuisine as well as showcasing the wine and heritage of indigenous products. We look forward to bringing our warmth in hospitality & dining to the great community of Darien, Connecticut. Welcome to our home at L’Ostal.Outdoor seating is available, but only offered weather depending, and reservations can be made day of, only over the phone, starting at 2pm on the day of.

Scena Wine Bar offers up Mediterranean fare in the downtown area of Darien. The family-owned restaurant opened in 2010 and has been pleasing customers in the area ever since. Scena Wine Bar has menus for bunch, lunch and dinner. Some of the popular options on the menu include the steamed clams, spicy salmon tartare, cider steamed mussels, ricotta gnocchi, fettuccini carbonara and grilled salmon corn succotash.Scena Wine Bar also has a dessert menu including a cookie plate, tiramisu, apple pie and Nutella filled crepes. The restaurant has a wine menu with a number of different vintages of wine available.

Our underground restaurant known as The Charles, is located inside the Darien Butcher Shop. This is a reservation only dining experience and is BYOB. We ask guests (with confirmed booking) to arrive at 6:30pm. Please no early arrivals as the team will be diligently setting up. This 5-course dinner is done with a modern French technique and sure to delight.$150 per person. Please review cancellation policy when booking. The Wheel focuses on American cuisine brimming with locally sourced ingredients in an industrial chic, waterfront setting. Drawing on fresh ingredients from over 40 local farmers, fishermen and purveyors, the restaurant features the best of what’s in season with an ever-changing menu plus produce grown and harvested right from The Village’s rooftop garden.     The food is very authentic especially the Southern Indian dishes. The staff are very courteous and attentive. The tandoori chicken and rack of lamb were outstanding . That cauliflower and okra were delicious. That mango lassi was well made and refreshing. We (5 adults and two children} celebrated my grand daughters birthday . They were very accommodating . we were given several containers and a convenient bag for left overs. This was not my first visit and it will not be my last either!!

    fun evening at The Charles, arrived at 6:30, BYOB, 5 course dinner with beef tartare; tomato, lentil and mozzarella salad; scallop, shrimp, and calamari dish; prime strip steak with spinach and potatoes and dessert; only room for 10 diners; food tasted great, would recommend.
