Welcome to your friend neighborhood bar and sandwich shop. Tucked away on Lafayette Park, just a block from the downtown and seaport neighborhoods of Salem, MA, The Babe is the perfect place to rendezvous after work for a cocktail, grab a bite with friends, or get together for a late night celebration. We take pride in our scratch kitchen with a menu inspired by Northeast sandwich culture and cuisine; touching on fan favorites from Philly to NY, and of course, Boston! Our menu includes specialties like house-ground cheese burgers, loaded Italian subs with freshly sliced salumi, crispy and cheesy mozzarella pockets, crispy wings, and more.     The restaurant was great. The food was outstanding: an order of popovers to start, a roasted duck breast for me, a baked salmon for my wife left us so full we couldn’t get to dessert. The parking was a challenge and it was pretty noisy but our server, Martina, was attentive and friendly so we were very happy with the whole experience and will definitely be back

    A perfect birthday dinner from start to finish! Impeccable service and outstanding food and drink. Hubby’s Ribeye was the best steak either one of us has ever tasted. We were seated near the fireplace and the ambiance was warm and festive. We have been here several times and while the experience is always a great one, this one was exceptional. We sadly had no room for dessert, but our waiter Jacob sent us home with two chocolate truffles which was a very nice touch. We will certainly be back.

    Food was great! Server was so sweet and on point. The only negative was that it was quite hot inside. Otherwise it was awesome.

    Wonderful family run spot, with a menu of creative dishes plus favorite standards. Great for an early dinner after visiting the Peabody Essex museum or touring Salam. Charming decor, good prices. Excellent pasta dishes with choice of chicken or veal. Good for kids too but also cute and romantic!

    Our Bartender was excellent! The food was amazing! We got the steak and eggs and the breakfast wrap! Absolutely amazing!! Can’t wait to go back! But the star was the lemon ricotta donuts served warm with homemade jam!!!
