Chop was created for people who love sharing, connecting and everything steak. We are proud to offer a menu that shares our commitment to sustainable beef sourcing, serving high-quality cuts of 100% Canadian beef. It isn’t just the meat that’s special – it’s also how we cook it. Our Montague broiler cooks at up to 1800 °F, giving a beautiful crust and flavour to every steak! We slow roast our prime rib in a humidity-controlled oven, keeping it mouth-watering and tender. And we put this level of care into each of our hand-crafted drinks, and from-scratch dishes, including plant-based and seafood options, with something for everyone to enjoy.     Really good spot. The service was excellent and so was the food. Yes it’s a chain, but this restaurant is better than almost any other in Halifax in my opinion. They’ve really got their act together.

    There is a reason this place is still around after 25 years! The food was perfect, our server Rich, was professional, warm and took such good care of us; and the ambience can not be beat. The space is intimate & cozy, with natural stone and aged timbers, and lots of nooks where you can have a private conversation, but enjoy the space all around you. The live music was a nice surprise too, and added to the experience without taking away my ability hear a conversation. Thank you for a great 25th anniversary dinner!

    Would definitely recommend this restaurant for anyone wanting seafood. They have lots of items to choose from. Excellent service. We were there for our anniversary and our server had a few complimentary surprises for us they made our night extra special

    Only disappointment is the flourless chocolate cake / tort. Experience has never been a "moist" cake. If it's a gluten free option, please have a regular as a non-gluten choice. Also a Tiramisu would be a great addition to the dessert menu!
