Mamakas Taverna is an elegant 85-seat Greek taverna on Ossington Ave. Owner Thanos Tripi brings a fresh, authentic approach to Aegean food, offering classical Greek dishes against a contemporary canvas. Each plate is thoughtfully crafted to evoke the way Thanos’ grandmother cooked, inviting guests to explore the Greece he grew up with through food, art and music.Meant to mimic an open market, the room is built of white concrete blocks creating an effect similar to the stucco seen throughout Greece. Mamakas is a nod to heritage, history and family memories – the daily trip to the market for ripe and fragrant tomatoes.     The ambiance was amazing. The drinks weren't bad either. It was just too crowded and too noisy. Barely any space to reach your chair. Too many chairs and tables in a little space. It ruined the experience.

    My experience at Prime left me wanting more. The hospitality that we were shown was over the top. The team at Prime are a well oiled machine. I was blown away by our server Daniel. He was extremely pleasant and knowledgeable. The food was spectacular. Special shout out to the lobster spaghetti! We had a last minute addition to our reservation and Prime was able to accommodate our party from 8 people to 9 by moving us into the private dining room, "The Cottage". This room was really neat. We were able to observe some of the food prep and behind the scenes camaraderie in the kitchen. Matty Matheson has created an absolute masterpiece at Prime. Thank you for hosting us.

    Incredible dinner for a night out with the girls. Great food, attentive staff and delicious cocktails. The atmosphere on a Thursday evening was fire. Highly recommend this place.
