Five Horses Tavern is conveniently located in Davis Square, walking distance of the Red Line, Somerville Theater, Tufts University, Davis Square Theater and Porter Square. Our mission is to serve modern American comfort food, incorporating locally sourced ingredients, with many vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. Our friendly staff will make a memorable experience whether you join us for lunch, dinner or our highly acclaimed weekend brunch. We are a fantastic venue for hosting large groups and intimate dinners. Our Bar offers a wide variety of craft beers from around the world, boasting 37 draft beers, 120 bottles, signature cocktails and a thoughtfully selected wine list. Join us on the patio or saddle up to the bar and admire our selection of over 150 bourbons and whiskies from around the globe. Reservations are recommended, however walk-ins are always welcome!

We welcome private event bookings for graduations, birthdays, weddings and more. To equalize the pay disparity between tipped staff & kitchen staff during our busy times, we add a 5% kitchen appreciation fee to each check. We require 24 hours notice for all cancellations.

Margeaux Supper Parlor presents a novel way to experience dinner by telling stories through cuisine. Guests are encouraged to order a themed trio of dishes, larger than tapas and smaller than big plates, to better experience the menu and recreate the familial bonhomie we associate with supper at grandma’s (when you were urged to try a bite of everything!). Recommended wine pairings are served in collections to mirror the entree trios. Margeaux Supper Parlor serves New American cuisine, blending dishes inspired by the two most historic port cities in the country: New Orleans and Boston. Franks is Greater Boston's oldest steak house, is adored by the Phantom Gourmet and the Zagat Guide and is going strong after all these years.     We had a Christmas dinner at Margeaux. The restaurant was packed, and service a little slow but attentive. The dining room was not too noisy even completely full, and the food was amazing as usual. Highly recommended.

    made the reservation for a birthday celebration on the recommendation of the honorary On a Sunday evening it was very busy and we had reservations. We were greeted quickly both by host and server. Ths  downsides were.:  mid December by the windows seem like there was no heat on in the place. Many tables around us. People have their coats on. It was cool seating; replaced our order and on two occasions the waitress came back to tell us they were out of three of our meals and two of our sides. We plunged back in ordered new things and were served one of our sides before any other meal came by like 15 to 20 minutes.. when we did receive food, which wasn’t too long of a wait it was pretty good. The decor and atmosphere of the place were great. We did indicate it was a birthday, but there wasn’t any kind of special effort on the restaurants part.
